Walk around the ponds
Ville-d’Avray is a calm and lush green little village. Only 15 minutes from Paris, it is the ideal location to relax for a weekend or a simple getaway.
The ponds, made famous in Corot's paintings, dot a valley bordering the Forêt de Fausses Reposes. It was on the banks of the Vieil Étang (Old Pond), the wildest of the ponds, that the landscape painter liked to paint in a modest cabin (a commemorative monument stands in its place).
The pathway along the banks and the dyke, a favourite among anglers and walkers, is the perfect invitation to get away from it all amid a bucolic environment.
