Ville-d’Avray and its ponds

Located in the urban community of Grand Paris Seine Ouest in the western half of Greater Paris, and near Boulogne-Billancourt, the Parc de Saint-Cloud, Sèvres and Marnes-la-Coquette, Ville-d’Avray offers a special setting amid nature.

Just 15 minutes from Paris, discover the enchanting environment of the ponds of Ville-d’Avray, often known informally as “les étangs de Corot” (Corot's ponds) due to being immortalised numerous times by the famous Impressionist painter.

Places to see from the hotel

When you stay at our spa hotel, you can discover the Maison des Jardies, a house owned by both the writer Balzac and the politician Léon Gambetta. Nearby is the Fontaine du Roy (the King’s Fountain). The water from this source was renowned for being the best in the outskirts of Paris, so much so that Louis XVI claimed it for his personal use! You’ll then pass by the Saint-Nicolas-Saint-Marc church, which houses some splendid paintings by Corot. Walking towards the ponds, you’ll pass by Corot’s house where he spent the spring and summer months painting.
