Through his cuisine, Chef Rémi Chambard blends classic traditions with a sense of the contemporary, dishing up freshness, lightness and visual splendour. Just like the painter Corot who immortalised the surrounding ponds, Chambard is inspired by nature. He does his “urban foraging” (as he puts it) at the Potager du Roi (Royal Vegetable Garden) in Versailles.

The selection of wines available is impressive, with vintage Bordeaux Grands Crus alongside red and white Burgundy vintages and wines from newer growers in the Val du Loire.

The elegant surroundings of the restaurant

The restaurant gained its first Michelin star in 2014, and its elegant surroundings open up onto the gardens, an intimate backdrop that is perfect for all sorts of occasions, from dinner for two to business meals. The restaurant's beautiful rotunda in pastel shades of chestnut emphasise the cultural heritage of Les Étangs de Corot.

Reproductions of masterpieces by Corot hang alongside faux stag hunting trophies, a reminder of the history of deer hunting in the neighbouring forest.
